How do I find out the IP address of my office server?
You'll probably need this information to connect, so here's how you do it.

1. Click "Start" on the Windows Toolbar, and then click "Run".

In the dialog box, type "cmd".

2. A command line window will appear. At the prompt, type "ipconfig".

3. The IP Address will be indicated under the top section titled "Ethernet Adapter Local Area Connection". The number you want is next to a field that reads
"IP Address".

Getting Started With blueRoam
Setting Up Your Office Server

A Quick Tutorial

You have just downloaded the blueRoam Hub to your server, and have opened to a website called the “blueRoam Main Page” with some icons and links. If you’re a new user, you might have some questions on getting started. This page has some quick steps you need to follow to get your remote users up and running.

Step 1: Add Your Remote Users
Click on the “Manage Users” icon in the Manage blueRoam section of the Main Page. On the “Manage Users” page click on the “add blueRoam user” link, and fill in the information of the remote user you would like to connect to your network. Click “add” at the bottom of the page, and you will return to the “Manage Users” page. You should see your remote user’s information listed on the page. To add more users, repeat this step.

Step 2: Check Your Site
Click “Main Page” on the Navigation Bar on the left hand side of your browser. This will return you to the Main Page. Click on the “Manage Sites” icon in the Manage blueRoam section of the Main Page. Your office server’s site name should be listed. Under the “Status” column, make sure it reads “Running”.

Step 3: Connect
Ask one of the remote users you added in Step 1 to open his/her e-mail inbox. There should be a new message titled, “New blueRoam Remote Access Account was created for you”. Ask him/her to read the message, and click on the link included in the message. Ask them to follow the instructions below on how to set up a remote user.

Setting Yourself Up As A Remote User

A Remote User Tutorial

You have just been invited to access the company network from a remote location. At the end of this tutorial, you'll be able to access office files, e-mail, and applications from anywhere.

Step 1: Downloading blueRoam
If you've been added as a remote user by your office, you've received an e-mail in your inbox titled, “New blueRoam Remote Access Account was created for you”. Open this e-mail and read the contents. There should be a link to the following Remote User Login page:

https://vpn2.blueroam.com/blueroam/login.jsp

Click on this link and input the username and password included in your blueRoam e-mail. Click on the 'Login' button. You will now arrive at a web page that says "Please wait while the blueRoam VPN is being initialized". You will see a bar move back and forth across the screen, indicating that the setup is taking place. This setup should take about 2 minutes. (Note: The link mentioned above is where you'll always go to log into your network).

Step 2: Connect Remotely
Once the setup is finished, you will be automatically brought to a blueRoam page with an icon that connects to your office server. Click once on this icon, and you will see the blueRoam Status popup window come up. It should first read "Authenticating" and then "Connected" where the window reads "Connection". You are now remotely connected to your office server!

Step 3: Access Files On Your Network
Once connected, a new popup window will appear that says "You Are Now Connected To Your Network". To access files on your office server, click on the icon on the popup window titled, "Access Shared Files On An Office Computer". You'll get a new window asking for the name or IP address of your office computer (If you don't know the IP address, read the side column on how to find this out). Enter in this information, and click the 'Go' button. You should get a window containing all the shared files from your office server.

Congratulations! You can now access e-mail, files and applications from anywhere. If you have any additional questions, please feel free to e-mail us at customercare@blueroam.com
